Alexander Callens met with NYCFC staff today to go over details of his contract. Further news is expected in the coming days, with an announcement expected next week.

According to a report from Peruvian outlet Ovacion, Alexander Callens is set to join New York City FC. According to the report Alex Callens’s signing is pending his medical with the team.
Callens recently worked with CD Numancia, of the Spanish second division, to have his contract terminated because he wanted to play in the United States.
Callens is a 24 year old center back with 10 senior caps for the Peruvian national team. Callens made 126 total apperances in Spain between Real Sociedad’s B team in the lower divisions and CD Numancia in La Liga II.
Callens’ arrival would help fill in the depth chart at center back, currently consisting of Frederic Brillant, Maxime Chanot and Ethan White. Callens would require an international roster spot, with NYCFC currently having one available.
NYCFC is currently in pre-season in Jacksonville, Florida before they head to Ecuador for their friendly against Emelec on February 8th.
