Here are some points after the 2-1 victory over San Jose Earthquakes at Yankee stadium.

1. “These go to eleven.” (if you don’t know the reference, watch this) Eleven straight home matches without a loss. This is a better streak of eleven than the one we suffered from our first season.

2. This was the first match since July 30, 2016 (5-1 against Colorado) that New York City FC has won a match without a David Villa goal. This is also the first match since July 6, 2016 (0-1 at New England) that NYCFC has won a match with a Villa appearance but no goals from him (a “goalless appearance”).

3. This was City’s first comeback win since September 1, 2016 (3-2 win against DC). Definitely not as dramatic, but still a comeback win.

4. This was also the first win with a one goal margin since that match on September 1, 2016.

5. NYCFC remains undefeated against San Jose (2W-1D-0L). The first win was on September 20, 2015 in Yankee Stadium; final score was 3-2. The scoreless draw was last season at Avaya Stadium on August 5, 2016

6. With a rating of 7.8, Jack Harrison wins WhoScored.com’s Man of the Match. Second place goes to Maxime Chanot with a 7.6, and third to both Sean Johnson and Ronald Matarrita with a 7.3. My MotM went to Matarrita for registering two assists as a defender (WhoScored does not count secondary assists, not cool).

7. Speaking of Matarrita, he tops the fantasy league charts in defenders this week with 12 points, and even made the dream team. (If only we can have more than four players from the same team…)

8. Currently, Villa has three assists, more than his two goals. He only registered four assists last season, and eight the season before.

9. Only three Eastern Conference teams out of a possible eight won three points this weekend: Columbus defeated Orlando 2-0, DC United, City’s next opponent, defeated Philadelphia 2-1, and then our match.

Speaking of the next opponent, I WILL be at the game on Saturday in RFK Stadium. And like last time, I will try and sneak into the away supporter’s section. Hope to meet some of you guys there!

Business trip to Dallas, but I come back and miss the USWNT match AND the NYCFC Academy match…if only I knew…sucks to be me right now…
