- Kevin Quevedo is rumored to be targeted by New York City FC.
- The 21 year old plays for Club Alianza Lima in the Peruvian First Division.
- According to report he was targeted by NYCFC during the summer transfer window.
According to Peruvian news source AS Kevin Martín Quevedo Mathey (Kevin Quevedo) is linked with a move to New York City FC come December. The 21 year old is currently under contract until 2019 with Club Alianza Lima in the Peruvian First Division. The article also reports that Quevedo was targeted by NYCFC during the summer transfer window in 2018. Both teams did not make a deal due to poor timing during negotiations. Quevedo has publicly stated his desire to leave the team and play abroad.
As per Transfermarkt Quevedo has 30 appearances for Club Alianza Lima accumulating 3 goals and 2 assists while averaging 47.76 minutes in those 30 matches.
Out of 6 possible matches Quevedo played in 5 during the clubs Copa Libertadores 2018 campaign. He started 3 times and was substituted in twice. Averaging 63 minutes in this tournament Quevedo lined up primarily on the left and right wing.
At this time NYCFC currently has 7 wingers/forwards on their roster. Jo Inge Berget, Valentin Castellanos (on loan), Jonathan Lewis (who?), Ronald Matarrita (Domènec Torrent has been starting him as a left winger for a few matches), Jesus Medina, Ismael Tajouri-Shradi and Rodney Wallace. None of these players have have cemented their starting position under Torrent though I can make the case that Tajouri-Shradi and Jesus Medina have the best opportunity to start as NYC’s wingers in 2019.
